3rd trimester!

So we entered 3rd trimester last week. It's hard to believe that in just a little over 2 months, baby Jellybean will be arriving. I've been feeling more consistent fetal movements over the past few weeks... at first, I only felt flutters and movements on the left side of my abdomen, but now I seem to feel movements all over... maybe I'm feeling feet, elbows, butt, who knows!! It's very comforting for me to feel him moving around in there, and sometimes I'll watch my belly and I'll see knobs sticking out, as if he's trying to say hello to mommy!!!

The trick these days as I'm slowly getting bigger n bigger is to not overdo work, to drink LOTS of water (seriously, they say I'm supposed to drink 64 oz of water, that's like 4 big water bottles.. and sometimes I'll drink even more than that cuz I'm so thirsty!), and to try to get as much sleep as I can. This is difficult considering we have our big exam coming up March 7th, and it's been hard to study with everything going on.

My girlfriends & my lovely sister in law are throwing me & David a baby shower next month, and we are SO excited... it's gonna be co-ed, so we're hoping it's gonna be lots of fun!!

It seems like there is so much to do for the baby but we haven't done anything yet. The crib my sis in law gave us is still just leaning against the wall in our bedroom. The only thing we've done is wash all of the clothes sis in law gave us, and that's only cuz my mom was the one who started doing all the washing. I definitely don't know how ready we are for parenthood, but ready or not, Jellybean is gonna be here before we know it.

Speaking of which, I know we're not going to be calling him Jellybean forever, but we haven't picked a name that seems to fit him. Well, that and we don't know what he looks like yet! I can tell he will be like his cute daddy.. but none of the names we've come across seem to capture a "Jellybean" character hahha. We'll keep on looking.

More to update later!

26 weeks

How your baby's growing:The network of nerves in your baby's ears is better developed and more sensitive than before. He may now be able to hear both your voice and your partner's as you chat with each other. He's inhaling and exhaling small amounts of amniotic fluid, which is essential for the development of his lungs. These so-called breathing movements are also good practice for when he's born and takes that first gulp of air. And he's continuing to put on baby fat. He now weighs about a pound and two-thirds and measures 14 inches (an English hothouse cucumber) from head to heel. If you're having a boy, his testicles are beginning to descend into his scrotum — a trip that will take about two to three days.
--------------------
So we hit 6 1/2 months this week! Baby bump is slowly and steadily growing. Jellybean is more and more active. I think a lot of times he is positioned like in the above picture because often I will feel a lot of movement and kicks but I can't feel it on the outside of my tummy. David loves to feel jellybean move when we're laying in bed together and I think JB recognizes Daddy's voice cuz when David talks to him, he'll give us a couple of hard thumps!
The hormones are doing crazy things to my skin though... I have these dry skin patches on my legs and had some a few wks ago on my arms that have gone away... and talk about high school acne :( it's not no matter what I do I can't fight the zits and I never had a problem with zits before (well besides in high school) and I haven't changed my regimen at all... so nasty! Also I've had crazy mood swings where some days I just sit here and feel so disillusioned. Well, not about the baby, but just about everything else. I think the only thing that lifts me out of my funk is hubby.
Anyway, more to update later... post call today so I've been just sleeping on and off today. David's working late tonight so I'll be asleep by the time he comes home, booo.
